Description:
This year long course will tackle earth and space science with a twofold approach- During class time, students will participate in hands-on labs, activities, and long term class projects. Students will use a textbook, Schoology study guides, and digital media to independently learn the material outside of class.
This course will cover the following topics:

History of the Earth: The Rock Record, A View of Earth’s Past

The Dynamic Earth: Plate Tectonics, Deformation of the Crust, Earthquakes, Volcanoes

Reshaping the Crust: Weathering and Erosion, River Systems, Groundwater, Glaciers, Erosion by Wind and Waves

Atmospheric Forces: The Atmosphere, Water in the Atmosphere, Weather, Climate

Oceans: The Ocean Basins, Ocean Water, Movements of the Ocean

Space: Studying Space, Planets of the Solar System, Minor Bodies of the Solar System, The Sun, Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe
