Preparing students for the careers of the future
Description:
Students will explore the relationship between structure and function of the human body. We will cover the basic organization of the body, biochemical composition, and body systems. We will also learn about varied diseases on certain systems.
In class, students will perform hands-on labs, model body systems, complete dissections, participate in group activities, and work on student directed projects. Since A&P is heavy on unfamiliar vocabulary, some assignments and class time will be spent practicing different study skills and memorization methods in order to allow students to find methods that work well for them.
Expectations:
The student will be responsible for completing 3-5 hours of assignments outside of class each week. These assignments will be posted on Schoology, therefore students should check Schoology weekly. Students will be responsible for reading through materials and completing worksheets as homework while class time will be spent on labs and projects.
